Allison + Jordan
High Altitude Lovers
These two adventurous and free spirited lovers wanted their event to feel personal, intimate and be a rockin’ party. Most guests were from out of state so it was crucial that everyone felt well attended to, so we added several personal & handmade details for that extra step of thoughtfulness.
Their August celebration took place in Estes Park, Colorado at a beautiful venue - Della Terra Mountain Chateau.
When we first met with Allison, we knew that her sunflowers, (her FAVE) had to be represented in all the florals. It was equally important to show Allison and Jordan’s love for the outdoors & Colorado Mountains. Emma Lea Floral sourced the sunflowers locally & we can’t help but see August roadside blooms and think of this day.
I carefully curated this custom fiber piece with the Allison, Jordan and the space in mind. We dip dyed a gradient of golden sunflower hues to reflect the silhouette of the Rock Mountain range where they said their “I Do’s!“
After the ceremony, I repurposed this piece in the reception. But now, it’s hanging in Allison and Jordan’s cozy home.
This piece meant so much to me when I was making it. It’s hard to explain the love I grow for each client that fuels into their custom installations. I hope they will feel the love on each fiber for the rest of it’s wall hanging life.
I mean, can you say RECEPTION FLOWERS! Sunflowers usually have a bad rep for being country or rustic. So, when I approached Emma to collaborate, I knew she was the gal to trust with such a modern and elegant twist.
I love designing a variety of sizing arrangements from tall to extra small, candles to florals help with budget, variety and overall aesthetic.
As guests arrived, they traveled down a path by the custom welcome sign to the ceremony site. Forecast called for a hot day, so I prepared scented spa towelettes, chilled and served on ice for guests to cool off with.
Guests gathered around cocktail tables to enjoy their beverages, passed apps while listening to live music played by the band.
See those little flowers in her drink? Yup. Those are edible & the perfect touch to Allison’s signature cocktail.
Oh, & we couldn’t forget their puppies they left at home, Bear and Juno. But don’t worry, they got the wedding custom beer named after them.
So…we good.
Each guest’s placement card was hand made with alcoholic ink. Surrounded by their favorite 200 people they all enjoyed a fabulous plated dinner as the sun set over the mountains and through the large windows of Della Terra’s Reception hall.
They danced for 3 hours, but that wasn’t the end. The historic Estes Park Trolleys transported all the guests to the Wheel House Bar in old town, (the only bar that stays open in this town passed 11 PM - Ha!), & continued the celebration onward.
To say that their guests had a rockin’ good time, is an understatement.
